河南省中原古陶瓷研究重点实验室是以平顶山学院为依托，由河南省科技厅于2017年批准设立的省级重点实验室，是河南省唯一以古陶瓷材料科学和艺术文化为主要研究方向的省级重点实验室。
实验室拥有高水平科研人员41人，其中教授11人，副教授12人，博士19人，中国工艺美术大师1人，中国陶瓷设计艺术大师3人，河南省工艺美术大师2人，河南省陶瓷设计艺术大师3人。实验室建有陶瓷材料分析检测实验室、陶瓷烧制实验室、雕塑实验室、3D陶瓷材料打印实验室、古陶瓷工艺技术陈列馆等，总面积6050平方米；实验室配置有场发射扫描电子显微镜、X射线荧光光谱仪、激光显微拉曼光谱仪等20余种现代化高精尖设备，设备总值高达1660万元。实验室设立有学术委员会，行政办公室，3个专业研究室及5个科学实验室，形成了具有先进仪器装备和活跃学术氛围的高水平科研平台和高级人才的重要培养基地。
实验室以中原古陶瓷材料研究（古陶瓷材料分析、古陶瓷起源及传承关系研究等），中原古陶瓷工艺技术研究（陶瓷原料加工、成型、烧制等工艺技术研究、陶瓷窑炉结构及热工技术研究等），中原古陶瓷艺术特征研究（陶瓷造型、釉色、装饰等艺术特征研究，文化内涵研究，文献整理研究，陶瓷修复与保护研究等），中原古陶瓷传承创新研究（古陶瓷复仿制研究，新材料研发，现代陶瓷创意设计等）为主要四个研究方向，多年来致力于陶瓷材料科学和艺术文化领域研究工作，并取得了突破性进展。科研团队主持或参与国家级及省部科研项目共25项，发表高水平学术论文及专利260余篇，出版学术专著10余部，创作的陶瓷作品荣获国家级及省部级奖励60余项。实验室以推进陶瓷领域科学研究和发展河南省陶瓷产业为目标，积极进行原创性科研工作，推动科研成果产业化，服务社会，为增强我国相关学科的学术竞争力，实现陶瓷产业可持续发展做出贡献。
Henan Key Laboratory of Research for Central Plains Ancient Ceramics is a provincial key laboratory approved by the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province in 2017, based on Pingdingshan University. It is the only key laboratory with the ancient ceramic materials science and art culture as research direction in Henan Province.
The laboratory has high-level scientific research staffs 41, including 11 professors, 12 associate professors, 19 doctors, 1 master of Chinese arts and crafts, 3 masters of Chinese ceramics design, 2 masters of Henan arts and crafts, 3 masters of Henan ceramics design. The laboratory established ceramic material analysis and testing laboratory, ceramic sintering laboratory, sculpture laboratory, 3D ceramic material printing laboratory, ancient ceramic technology exhibition hall, etc., with a total area of6050 square meters. The laboratory is equipped with more than 20 kinds of modern high-precision equipment, such as Field-Emission Scanning Electrons Microscope, X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer, Laser Micro-Raman Spectrometer, etc., with a total value of 16.6 million RMB. The laboratory has an academic committee, an administrative office, three professional research laboratories and five scientific laboratories, forming an high-level scientific research platforms and important training base for advanced talents with advanced equipment and an active academic atmosphere.
Research on ancient ceramic materials (analysis of ancient ceramic materials, research on the origin and inheritance relationship of ancient ceramics, etc.), research on technology of Central Plains ancient ceramics (research on the technology of ceramic raw materials processing, forming, sintering, research on the ceramic furnace structure and heat engineering technology. etc.), research on artistic features of Central Plains ancient ceramic (research on artistic features which contain ceramic modeling, glaze color, decoration, etc., research on cultural connotation, research on method of literature reorganization, research on technology of ceramic restoration and protection, etc.) and research on heritage and innovation of Central Plains ancient ceramic (research on imitation of ancient ceramic, research and development of new materials, creative design of modern ceramics) are the main four research directions of laboratory. Over the years, scientific researchers of laboratory have devoted to the research on ceramic materials science and art culture, and have made breakthrough progress. The research team presided over or participated in 25 national and provincial scientific research projects, published more than 260 high-level academic papers and patents, published more than 10 academic monographs, and won more than 60 national and provincial awards. The laboratory aims to promote the scientific research in the field of ceramics and develop the ceramic industry in Henan Province, actively carry out original scientific research work and promote the industrialization of scientific research results, serve the society. Laboratory will contribute to enhancing the academic competitiveness of related disciplines in China and realizing sustainable development of ceramic industry.
